Happy blog anniversary to me

One year ago I started One Hump with a pretty dull post about Western Sahara. Since then, things have only improved.

I got yelled at by Robert Holley, ate a tasty chicken with President Abdelaziz, protested at the Moroccan embassy, and enjoyed how cool everyone involved in this issue is. Thanks for reading, commenting, and emailing. The more we talk and the better we know one another, the closer the Western Sahara gets to a free and fair referendum.

    Congrats Will!
    Keep up the good work.

If Western Sahara became independent one day, I promise, I'll conduct a campaign to name at least one street after you. It will look like: Will Sommer Ave. instead of HH Prince Rachid Ave. of course, Mo 6 Aves in the occupied territories will be saved for: Mustapha Essayed our "Che".

Happy anniversary: “One Hump or two?"

    With love and admiration,

    Essayed Mohamed

  2. Happy anniversary! I completely second Essayed Mohamed's opinion.

And if not a street, why not a "7th August Camp" right next to the camp of "27th February" in Tindouf?

  3. Will,

Let me give a happy anniversary as well - keep up the good work. Here's hoping your blog is useless by this time next year.

    Viva Sahara,

    Congratulations Will

    Happy new year !!!

go ahead you are the best

Next year Will/will be /in/ Free WS

  5. Will,

This is a complete non-sequitur, but have you seen this yet:

  6. Thanks for the kind words, everyone, and for the haiku, Desertman. Like Justin said, I only hope I can stop writing about the independence movement soon. Once that happens, though, I'll probably have to blog about whatever antics the SADR government's up to.

Essayed, Mustapha Essayed (aka El Ouali) is way better than Che! I don't think El Ouali ever had people massacred.

  7. No I hadn't, Justin. What's up with that page? Looks like a good resource, especially for Spanish speakers, but where is the love for the cool Anglophone blogs?

  8. Will,

I actually bookmarked the page on a lark several months ago. I don't typically bookmark (I use del.icio.us, and I see your posts regularly on my feeds), so I loaded it not long ago and found that it turned into a decent resource. For the life of me, I couldn't tell you how I stumbled upon it or who made it. You might want to team up with this guy to aggregate these sources; who knows. Anyway...

  9. Good idea. I'll send him/her an email if I can figure out the Spanish.

You have a del.icio.us? We should be friends. My screenname's Omelet4th.

  10. Will,

    I'm koavf (as usual.)
